About the role
Reporting to the Payroll Team Lead, our Payroll Support Officers focus on the front end of the payroll process for our blue-collar operational employees who are employed across different enterprise agreements.
Working as part of a supportive team, you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced and long-standing team members. As part of a team of 8 there is always someone to collaborate with, share ideas and learn from. The pay cycles are processed through an internal Time & Attendance system and the team have the very important job of ensuring the accurate and efficient delivery of payroll services including payroll reporting, audit, and administration tasks.
This role will allow you to build a strong career in payroll by building key foundational skills and gaining valuable exposure in a high volume and EA based environment that not many payroll professionals will have the opportunity to explore.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overall accountability for the accurate and efficient delivery of payroll services and clear understanding of Enterprise Agreements
- Contribute as a key member of the payroll team, supporting the delivery of strategic Pacific National objectives
- Develop strong business partnerships across Pacific National with key stakeholders
- Regular payroll reporting, audit, and administration
About you
To be successful in this role, ideal applicants will be a strong administrator and possess strong analytical ability, coupled with an innovative and creative thinking style.
High-level communication ability is essential, with verbal, written and interpersonal skills integral to success in this role. You will need to demonstrate proven relationship management strengths, with clear evidence of your ability to build successful business relationships and work as a team player.
In addition, ideal applicants will be able to demonstrate:
- Strong administrative background
- Any prior payroll support experience will be highly regarded, especially prior exposure to front end payroll processes for pays governed by Enterprise Agreements
- Any experience with Enterprise Agreement interpretation will be highly regarded
- Confidence in operating within a high volume, deadline driven environment
- Results-driven and customer-focused approach, with exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
- Background in transport, logistics, heavy industry or other related industries will be highly regarded
- Strong MS Office skills and any experience with Peoplesoft HRIS will be highly regarded
