We’re on the lookout for a skilled Terminal Operator with shunting experience to help keep our operations running smoothly at our Tennyson terminal.
What You’ll Do
As a Level 3 Terminal Operator, you’ll play a critical role in the coordination, planning, and safe execution of train movements within the terminal.
Reporting to the Supervisor, your day-to-day will include:
- Efficient assembly and dismantling of trains
- Operating top lift container forklifts and other load-shifting equipment
- Processing freight and documentation into a computerised system
- Conducting train examinations and brake testing
- Supporting shunting activities as required
- Adhering to all safe-working and operating procedures
This role operates on a rotating shift roster, including nights and weekends.
What You’ll Bring
You’re a forward-thinking team player who takes pride in doing things safely and efficiently. You’re accountable, reliable, and ready to take on a challenge. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Heavy Forklift Licence
- Full Driver’s Licence
- General computer proficiency
- Experience in train inspection, ground shunt, and trackside safety
- Shunt driver qualifications (highly regarded)
