Linehaul Supervisor – Port Augusta

An outstanding opportunity has presented itself for a supervisor to lead our Linehaul operations based at our Port Augusta Terminal in South Australia.

What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Superintendent, you will be accountable for leading and coordinating day‑to‑day Linehaul operations, ensuring safe, efficient and customer‑focused service delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead operational activities to support Delivery in Full, On Time (DIFOT) targets.
  • Ensure all train movements and Linehaul functions operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with PN standards.
  • Champion cultural change and continuous improvement in safety, performance, and productivity.
  • Provide effective leadership to train crews, supporting training, assessment, and ongoing capability development.
  • Implement business improvement initiatives and support national and local operational plans.
  • Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders to support customer‑centric service outcomes.
  • Contribute to asset, labour and resource planning to ensure optimal utilisation.

What You’ll Bring

  • Demonstrated leadership experience within a heavy industry or complex operational environment.
  • Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities in a fast‑paced, safety‑critical workplace.
  • Experience driving safety improvements and managing risk.
  • Ability to engage, influence, and motivate frontline teams.
  • Confidence in having difficult conversations and leading staff through change.
  • Commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
