The Opportunity:
We're looking for a Senior Engineer Asset Integrity and Risk to join our Refinery Management Team and help shape the reliability, safety and long term sustainability of our operations.
Reporting to the General Manager Refinery, this senior technical role plays an important part in supporting operational performance, asset strategy, risk management and long term asset reliability. Working collaboratively with leaders, engineers, maintenance teams and operational personnel, you will provide specialist engineering guidance that helps inform how the Refinery manages, maintains and invests in its assets for the future.
This role offers an opportunity to apply your technical expertise to complex engineering challenges while contributing to safe, reliable and efficient operations. You'll help identify emerging risks and improvement opportunities, provide insight into asset performance, and support informed decision making through evidence based recommendations.
Working across critical plant and equipment, you'll contribute to maintenance strategies, asset lifecycle planning, capital investment decisions and operational risk management. Your expertise will help support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen reliability, safety and business performance.
While highly visible within the Refinery leadership structure, this role is focused on technical leadership through influence, collaboration and specialist knowledge rather than direct people management. You'll work closely with teams across the business, helping to improve asset performance and supporting positive operational outcomes through a practical and solutions focused approach.
About You:
You are an experienced engineer with a background in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, and experience within refining, manufacturing, mineral processing, pyrometallurgical or other complex industrial environments.
You bring knowledge of asset integrity, reliability engineering, failure mechanisms, root cause analysis and risk assessment methodologies such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA). You are comfortable working with technical and operational data, identifying patterns and trends, developing structured improvement plans and communicating findings through clear reports, recommendations and presentations.
You enjoy collaborating with others to solve technical challenges and improve outcomes. You are skilled at partnering with stakeholders across different functions to understand issues, evaluate options and support practical, sustainable solutions.
Your experience may include leading investigations, assessing asset performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and contributing to initiatives that enhance reliability, safety and operational effectiveness.
To be successful in the role, you will be well organised, able to build trusted relationships across a broad stakeholder group, and comfortable working with operators, tradespeople, engineers and leaders. You can balance competing priorities, work across multiple projects and provide clear, evidence based advice that supports sound engineering and business decisions.
