About The Position
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will support the maintenance department in improving the gold refining mechanical reliability process. Liaising with engineering, supervising plant modifications and new equipment installations
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Investigate route cause failures and through previous experience suggest & Implement improvements.
- Take area ownership of plant and working with the planner/scheduler supervise plant shutdowns, ensuring work is undertaken safely, spares are pre-reserved, and plant handed back to operations in a timely manner.
- Liaise with Engineering during commissioning of new equipment and upgrades.
- Supervise 3rd party contractors, ensuring work is carried out to Perth Mint safety standards and projects are commissioned as defined by the Engineering Team
- Use Perth Mint CMMS to create notifications, Engineer work orders, Close out, time Confirm & Create purchase requisitions
- Lead Continuous Improvement projects by following Perth Mint Management of Change process and developing technical scopes of work
- When required provide leadership and share knowledge to the maintenance team carrying out planned and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment and installations
- Ensure Perth Mint assets are maintained or inspected as per the legislative standards
- Contribute to the effective implementation & improvement of the CMMS system and asset management system
About You
- Mechanical trade certificate, Preferably Cert III or IV in Engineering or supervision or similar.
- Vcat I or II (desirable).
- Confined space, working at height, Construction white card, Class C drivers’ license, hazardous area training.
- Registered supervised gas fitter (desirable).
- Minimal of 5 years’ experience in a similar technical role.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical installations, repairs, inspection’s fault fining on rotating equipment, hydraulics, conveyors & valves.
