ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role you will assist with maintaining the safe and efficient running of all plant, equipment and buildings at The Perth Mint Refinery, whilst adhering to the legislative and organisation OHS&E requirements. This role will require a candidate who is willing to work on a flexible roster, of varying shift times and days.
Your role as a Mechanical Fitter will involve:
- Diagnose and repair breakdowns using advanced problem solving techniques and strong technical expertise
- Provide mechanical preventative maintenance
- Operate hand tools, power tools, welders and general machining, including an EWP, and a Forklift
- Complete daily work records, machine log books and preventative maintenance work sheets
- Complete a Safety Take 5 for each task undertaken and JSA as required
- Implement a program of continual process improvement
- Comply fully with all relevant company, national and state policies, codes of practice, regulations and laws
- Maintain skills and experience as required in a contemporary work environment
- Ensure own safety and health at work and avoid adversely affecting the safety or health of any other person through any act or omission at work
EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated experience in Mechanical Engineering
- Relevant Trades Licenses are desirable (eg. Forklift, Working at Heights, etc.)
- Australian Recognised Trade Certificate is desirable
- Sound stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong time management
