What are we looking for?
We are currently on the search for an Experiential Designer to fill a critical role in our Brisbane office, working across a variety of projects within Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific (APAC).
This role is a full-time permanent opportunity working across a varied and wide-ranging suite of projects, all while working hand-in-hand with out design teams. These projects will sit across architecture, interior design, brand activation and consulting and focus on assisting teams to find different ways to approach design from a user-centred perspective and bring to teams possible design recommendations based on research, idea generation and journey mapping. It’s a very rare opportunity to work across such a diverse program of work and for someone to get exposure to a whole range of new and diverse consulting challenges and opportunities.
Specifically, we’re looking for someone who can, and has a passion for:
- Undertaking stakeholder and user research utilising a combination of surveys, contextual analysis and face to face engagement.
- Identifying and uncovering trends that relate to the commercial pillars including food and beverage, retail, advertising, services, sponsorship and experiences.
- Utilising research, developing a range of user persona types, outlining key individual attributes, behaviours, motivations and obstacles of the user experience.
- Developing the user journey (maps) through the facility based on persona types and outline the points of engagement (touchpoints) that relate to the commercial pillars.
- Identifying user pain points throughout the facility.
- Undertaking a detailed site audit of selected facilities considering the end to end user experience.
- Engaging with industry leaders and future thinkers around retail, user and consumer trends, as customers shift from Customer Experience (CX) to Intimate Experience (IX) such as but not limited to: security, technology, transport, retail/advertising, and service design.
- Based on external, internal and other data sets, developing a set of assumptions to strip back the user and operations problems back to their simplest form.
- Identifying innovations in other industries that may be relevant.
Further to this, the type of people we’re looking for those with:
- Bachelor degree in a design-related discipline
- Experience with driving and applying human-centred design processes.
- Experience in conceptual thinking to support the creation of services (experiences, products and services) bringing together customer needs, client and project business goals.
- Working knowledge of design and prototyping techniques.
- Significant experience of planning, leading and facilitating customer/stakeholder workshops.
- Extensive experience undertaking stakeholder management.
- Experience in the development of concepts, including the definition of customer needs, task analysis, and the creation of storyboards.
- Experience working within a collaborative design team to understand end-to-end experiences using participatory and iterative design techniques, including observational studies, customer interviews, analysis of research.
- Experience in designing, executing and analysing qualitative and quantitative research to uncover insights, learn about user behaviour and provide inputs and validate design concepts.
- Participate as a contributor to an interdisciplinary team that includes architects, interiors designers, project management, business and brand activation strategists, creative and technology content producers and wayfinding, graphics environmental and place making disciplines
