About the opportunity
Reporting to the Treasury Manager as Corporate Finance Analyst you will assist in the management of the Port of Newcastle’s (PON) Treasury function within the Finance team. Your job will involve a mixture of day-to-day Treasury activities as well as provide significant input at a strategic level, including financial analysis and modelling, investment analysis, funding and liquidity reporting, and contribution to other strategic initiatives.

You will also assist lead strategic programs, including investment analysis, reporting, and contribution to strategic initiatives. It is a highly visible and interactive role that requires a high level of communication and influencing skills, with the ability to provide insights and commentary.

About you
Ideally you have a Finance background, and potentially have had some exposure to corporate/investment banking or infrastructure sectors. We are open to graduates with the willingness to learn or ideally up to 3 years’ experience, wanting an opportunity to work in business where you will gain exposure to a diverse range of stakeholders including banks, credit rating agencies, and other investors.

Ideally you will have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Economics, Finance, Commerce, or other relevant business or management discipline
  • Experience with financial analysis and modelling (MS Excel)
  • Strong communication, negotiating, and influencing skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with an inquisitive mind
