Immediate term opportunity to diversify exits in the growth of PON’s $60m multi-purpose terminal at Mayfield. This terminal will facilitate use of two recently acquired mobile harbour cranes increasing container and project cargo handling capability.
About the opportunity
The Business Development Manager assists in the management of Port of Newcastle’s (PON) Business Development function with a focus on the Newcastle NSW market and container opportunities. The Business Development Manager will have carriage of Port of Newcastle’s day-to-day sales and customer interaction activities with minimal supervision in these areas and will provide significant input at a strategic level, including contribution to pricing analysis, market intelligence and value proposition generation.
The Business Development Manager will lead strategic programs on behalf of the Senior Manager Business Development, including the development of strategy, value proposition, opportunity pipeline and relationships. The role requires a planner with proposal writing and presentation development, with an ability to deliver and present information across the organisation and to its customers and stakeholders.
This is a highly visible and collaborative role that is critical to the development of the customer and contract base for Port of Newcastle’s diversification that will include the multi-purpose terminal and planned deepwater container terminal.
