The Opportunity:

Port of Newcastle’s Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining data pipelines and platforms using the Microsoft Azure stack. They will work as part of the IT team and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure data quality, security and compliance across a range of fields. This role is integral in supporting the data and analytics strategy, providing technical advice and guidance and will be a key contributor to the overall reliability and security of the organisation.

What you will bring:

To be effective in this role, you will possess a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in data engineering or a related role will demonstrate your working knowledge in this area. Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other programming languages is required, as is hands on experience with Azure cloud services. Your effective communication and collaboration skills will be well utilised and your commitment to delivering high quality solutions will be key to your success.
