About the Role:
We are currently looking for an experienced SCADA Control Systems Engineer to join our busy team on a full time permanent capacity based at our CBD head office. Working within the engineering team this role is responsible for the installation of SCADA and PLC Control Systems on our projects. This includes being involved directly with Beon’s clients across multiple projects in the areas of analysis and negotiation of customer requirements, architecture design, equipment selection, document preparation and on-site commissioning.
About you:
The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in working with SCADA and PLC control systems in a engineering environment. In addition, this candidate will also have extensive experience in building strong relationship with stakeholders, problem solving complex issues and have excellent communication skills and time management skills.
In this role you will deliver:
- Analysing customer requirements and developing functional specifications for SCADA design
- Negotiating project contracts to improve alignment between customer requirements and existing Beon offerings
- Specify and procure SCADA system works packages
- Manage delivery of design drawings and documentation to meet contractual requirements
- Lead and assist in the delivery of key internal SCADA design standards and philosophy documents
- Report on risk, budget and schedules of SCADA works packages
- Perform hand over of solutions to the clients’ technical team
- Assist Beon SCADA Engineers in developing minor SCADA features where required
To succeed in this role you will have:
- Bachelor of Engineering
- Previous successful delivery of SCADA and PLC control systems, including design, development and commissioning in high voltage electrical installations
- Extensive background preparing functional specifications, control philosophy documents or other documents that inform SCADA development
- Demonstrated ability to procure and manage the delivery of works packages using subcontractors
- Experience using various communications protocols including Modbus and DNP3
- Experience working with control system cabinets, racks and wiring (preferred)
- Strong understanding of control requirements for substations and generator installations (preferred)
Favourable skills and experience:
- Experience using Ignition Perspective for interface design
- Experience programming RTUs using Sequential Function Charts and Ladder.
- Experience programming SEL Real Time Automation Controllers
- Experience programming using Python
