About the role:
There has never been a more exciting time to join the energy industry! Targets for net zero carbon emissions, shift to renewable energy, participation of customers in energy markets and speed of new technology are creating extraordinary challenges and opportunities for corporate affairs professionals.
We are currently looking for an experienced and multi-disciplined manager to join our Corporate Affairs team based at Market Street, Melbourne on a full time and permanent basis.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communication, this diverse role plays a key role in managing the communications which inspire internal engagement and external influence in key operational and policy areas. You will be responsible for our internal and external communications, corporate reporting, government relations and advocacy strategy.
Leading a team of three people, this role is an outstanding opportunity for a corporate affairs practitioner who loves to collaborate, plan and deliver major projects or programs, and understands how to translate engineering and technical data and initiatives into compelling consumer and community benefits.
In addition, we’re looking for someone to share our passion for championing and influencing inclusion and diversity, reconciliation and sustainability as well as our employee value proposition.
This is a rare career opportunity that is not to be missed!
What you’ll deliver:
- Design and manage external communications and events which amplify messages about the business’ leadership, innovation, expertise or delivery
- Lead the business’ approach to relationship management with key local, state and federal elected representatives and their officers or departments as relevant to our networks and the energy transition
- Drive collaboration through partnerships with industry, community or consumer-based groups with shared interests and objectives in policy change. This includes managing our corporate memberships with important industry-based stakeholders
- Create, develop and execute internal communication strategies, campaigns and content to drive the development of our internal culture and employee engagement.
- Motivate and lead a collaborative team that delivers integrated programs of work in association with other members of the Corporate Affairs function and a variety of internal business partners
To succeed in this role, you’ll have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Public Relations or Communications
- Substantial experience designing, project managing and implementing end-to-end multi-channel campaigns
- Experience in leading internal and external communication or public relations functions and teams within either corporate or consulting organisations
- Experience in government relations to effectively build influence and constructive working relationships
- Excellent demonstrated interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships internally and externally
- High standard of communication skills (copywriting, creative and design management, photography and audio-visual direction) as this is a hands-on role.
