The objective of our Reconciliation Action Plan is: To build meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships with First Peoples, Communities and Organisations.


The expectation is that the development and implementation of our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) as an initial commitment will build our understanding and hold us accountable to responding to First Peoples aspirations and interests and embedding this in how we do business.


Our RAP will be built on respect, relationships and opportunities. We wish to contribute to social and organisational change, as well as creating economic opportunities for First Peoples.

Purpose of Membership:
Your role in the First Peoples Advisory Committee is to provide guidance of First Peoples knowledge and perspectives in the development and delivery of CitiPower/Powercor and United Energy's Reflect RAPs and associated commitments. Your contribution will advance the process of reconciliation across Victoria and ensure the successful delivery of the actions contained within the RAP.


The Chair of the Committee will be appointed by the business and will be asked to join CitiPower/Powercor and United Energy’s Customer Advisory Committee to ensure recommendations provided by the First Peoples Advisory Committee are actively considered.


Selection:
The Committee will be made up of 3 to 5 First Peoples representatives.


Expressions of Interest are invited from residents within the Powercor, CitiPower and United Energy footprint: Wurundjeri, Wadawurrung, Dja Dja Wurrung/Djaara, Wadawurrung, Yorta Yorta Nations, Wotjobaluk, Taungurung, Latji Latji and Ngintait and Gunditjmara Countries.


Essential Criteria:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the priorities of First Peoples people across the CitiPower/Powercor and United Energy geographic areas of Victoria
  • An interest and involvement in local and / or broader First Peoples community, advocacy and networks
  • Direct links to First Peoples community and/or organisations, and
  • An ability and willingness to contribute to the development of policies and services with First Peoples.


Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience and/or understanding of the role of an advisory committee,
  • An interest and/or understanding of energy services and First Peoples involvement and interactions


All Committee members will be remunerated for their participation. Payment of $250 per hour is offered to each member with an allowance of up to 10 hours for attendance and preparation for each meeting.
