Join us at an exciting time as we work on a 'once in a generation' energy initiative! Powerlink is currently transitioning to a contemporary and advanced new energy management system, which will be used to control the entire Qld HV transmission network! This is a fixed term 24 month role.
About the role
As the AEMS Test Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance to team members, as well as reviewing and approving engineering system test strategies and services performed by the team. As a subject matter expert in Energy Management System operations, and a Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ), you will perform RPEQ functions related to the SCADA/ energy management system and supporting system testing activities. You will also mentor and guide other team members to enable them to perform at their best.
About you
To be successful, you will possess a tertiary qualification in Electrical or Electronics Engineering and hold RPEQ certification (Registered Professional Engineer Queensland). You will also have considerable hands on experience in Power Systems Operations or Energy Management System operations, power transmission network operations and/or distribution and control centre operations.
You have demonstrated ability to:
- Perform SCADA point to point testing
- Troubleshoot runback schemes on SCADA equipment
- Utilise SCADA data communication technologies (e.g. DNP3, Conitel, ICCP, serial and IP based methods).
- Work within and develop quality assurance policies, procedures, guidelines
- Analyse and report on operational data.
- Configure and manage faults within SCADA/EMS/DMS control systems
You also enjoy working in a busy and fast paced operational environment, have excellent organisational skills, high attention to detail and are good at working with deadlines and effectively managing conflicting priorities.
