Job Summary
As the Telecommunications Engineer at Powerlink you will undertakes the telecommunications design role on allocated projects, mainly in the areas of multiplexing systems, MPLS-TP, fibre optic, protection signalling, microwave, mobile radio and power line carrier.
About the role
- As part of a multidisciplinary team, responsible for designs of commercial and operational telecommunication systems and services needed to support the critical Queensland HV transmission network, and
- You undertake the detailed telecommunications design role on allocated projects, in technologies including DWDM, SDH, MPLS-TP, fibre optic, microwave radio, protection signalling and power line carrier, and
- Clarify scope and deliver project designs meeting time, cost and quality requirements.
About you
You will have successfully delivered telecommunications systems and services under allocated projects and ensured they are:
- optimally and safely designed for integrated into the network
- on-time and on-cost telecommunication services for the critical high voltage power network and for commercial customers
You have been able to transfer your technical skills and knowledge to other team members.
You will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Telecommunications Engineering and are eligible for Registration with the Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland supported by relevant experience and demonstrated ability to operate in a design role in the practical application of telecommunications design.
