About Powerlink and the roles
It is an exciting time to be part of the energy industry and especially at Powerlink, as we help shape the renewable energy transformation in Queensland and Australia. As part of this, we are delivering a number of major projects, including renewable energy developments, across Queensland.
The growth in our project portfolio has resulted in a number of new roles in our Community and Delivery Services Group, including the following two Community Relations Advisor position:
- Community Relations Advisor - Southern Queensland
In this newly created role, you will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of regional community relations and engagement services. The role is currently a 17-month position with potential for extension.
You will be part of a small team that creates and delivers positive outcomes in the building and maintaining of sustainable local relationships with communities, stakeholders and landholders. You will contribute to the development and implementation of specific community relations plans and strategies that enhance our social licence to operate.
About you
You have significant and active local community experience in in South Eastern/Southern Queensland relevant to Powerlink’s transmission network, with strong connections and knowledge of local communities, stakeholders and social networks.
For this site-based role, you will currently reside or have the ability to relocate/travel the region where you will be Powerlink’s local community relations representative. As a significant proportion of the role will involve on-site liaison with communities, landholders and other stakeholders, extensive time will be spent working in the field and it is important that you are able to travel to regional communities, or to other locations to provide support where required. Familiarity and experience with both rural and urban communities is essential.
As a representative of Powerlink, you may also be in involved in discussions with stakeholders in industry, government and the broader energy sector on issues related to community relations at a regional level.
Your significant and demonstrated experience in community and or landholder relations for infrastructure projects is essential to succeed in this role.
If you also have experience land access issues in the development and operation of electricity transmission infrastructure that will be highly regarded. However, don’t be discouraged if you don’t, as experience with linear infrastructure and construction will also be considered.
