About the role
Queensland's energy system is transforming to create reliable, clean and affordable energy to power generations to come. We seek qualified tradespersons to join our friendly and spirited field crews, working safely to perform critical maintenance works, resolve complex problems, and upgrade our network to deliver safe and reliable electricity to over 5 million Queenslanders. Our substation field crews play a key part in maintaining safe and reliable supply of power by working on our HV Transmission network either maintaining existing substation equipment or assisting with the construction, installation and building of new primary plant.
About you
Travelling to substations and working closely with team members, you will enjoy variety in your work, complex problem solving, and have a passion for providing high quality outcomes. Crucial to your success in this role is a background in safely maintaining, constructing and operation High Voltage electrical substation equipment. You will have a Qld Electrical Fitter / Mechanic licence, current resuscitation and switchboard rescue certification, an Elevated Work Platform high risk work licence, and a "C" class driver’s licence (noting that Powerlink may support you in acquiring some of these on the job).
What training will you receive?
To work on Queensland's high voltage network all new employees without relevant experience will undertake structured high quality training in order to acquire the necessary skills and licences. With industry experts, and working on Tier one equipment, the training offered at Powerlink is unrivalled in Queensland. Our learning and training programs include technical and professional modules, with all role specific training fully supported by Powerlink and linked to your career development and pay progression.
