We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, motivated Safety professional based in Brisbane (Virginia) to join our HSE team as we expand to meet future growth in our industry!

About the role
Powerlink Queensland is experiencing a period of significant growth, innovation and change. The Senior Safety Advisor (Regional) position represents a great opportunity to truly influence and guide Powerlink as it strives to deliver a world class energy future for all Queenslanders. Powerlink is a vital contributor to Queensland and Australia meeting its renewable energy targets, and setting the standard across the globe for what successful renewable transition looks like.
You will provide high quality, innovative and customer-focused safety support across a wide range of projects and operational activities. This role will promote excellent safety outcomes in the South Queensland region. You will be based in Brisbane (Virginia) with regular travel to multiple project sites and in-field work.
This role will give you the opportunity to expand on your experience and success to influence and lead change initiatives. It could be your next step in your leadership development as you will have up to 7 direct reports. You will be supported by a dedicated team of leaders and HSE professionals at an exciting time of opportunity and growth within Powerlink.
What you will do:
- Lead a small team to coordinate safety functions across a significant project portfolio as well as network operations and maintenance activities.
- Influence, mentor and train Safety Advisors and key stakeholders on elements of safety management relevant to their area of work.
- Provide and coordinate a range of specialist Safety support functions to large-scale construction projects, operations and maintenance activities;
- Provide and coordinate direct support to the facilitation and monitoring of risk management and associated application of systems and controls.
- Establish relationships with key stakeholders and communicate changes to systems and processes to the business to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
About you
You are an experienced Safety Professional, looking for your next opportunity to step into a leadership role and drive a positive safety culture across Powerlink. You are passionate and proactive and thrive in a dynamic environment, managing multiple and changing priorities, whilst working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.
In addition to this, you will also have:
- Degree level qualifications in WHS or another related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in managing and delivering safety monitoring and compliance activities for large-scale construction projects and maintenance activities.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with complex safety issues and regulatory requirements on large-scale construction activities and maintenance of linear infrastructure.
- Excellent oral and written communication with the ability to effectively communicate to all levels of management.
