A highly hands-on position with local and regional travel, you’ll play a critical role in the ongoing support, coordination and development of Apprentices and their progress throughout their Apprenticeship.
You will mentor and coach apprentices in the completion of training and assessment activities as they relate to national qualification outcome, identify apprentices who may need additional support and provide remediation activities as required. You will explain and reinforce safety, organisational, performance and behavioural expectations of our apprentices and build their capability to ensure a long-term career with us.
This not an administrative-based role, but rather a person-focused partnership opportunity.
About you:
As a naturally, exceptional communicator you relate easily to others, and you genuinely enjoy building apprentice capability and resilience, and supporting them on their learning journey. You have successfully mentored trade apprentices before.
Your 10+ years electrical trade experience has equipped you with the expertise to understand the learning curve and potential barriers for some apprentices, with an equal ability to find solutions and enable their success and development. Both a team-based and autonomous role, you are comfortable with travelling to visit your apprentices and their supervisors face-to-face. You have:
- Electrical Fitter/Mechanic Trade Certificate
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
- Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (desirable)
- Confidence with MS Office, databases and systems including learning management systems (LMS) or a willingness to learn.
Whilst not essential, previous experience working within a high voltage electrical environment and working knowledge of substation plant, associated secondary systems and transmission lines are highly desirable.
This position can be based at either our Virginia Head Office or our newly-opened Gladstone Hub.
