About the role
Reporting to the Asset Performance Team Leader, you will provide expert technical support and drive continuous improvement practices by undertaking proactive and predictive monitoring and analysis of asset condition and the co-ordination and completion of significant investigations, including ICAM investigations, into plant and equipment failure or malfunction to ensure the safe, cost effective and reliable operation of Powerlink transmission network.
Working as part of a dynamic and customer centric team, you will:
- Provide advice in the areas of asset condition and performance, maintenance practices, assessment and mitigation of risk relating to HV plant, transmission lines, secondary systems and digital networks through high-level data analysis.
- Lead, perform and approve technical and failure investigations in the areas of HV plant, transmission lines, secondary systems and digital networks.
- Develop, review and implement robust fit for purpose systems and methodologies to be used by Powerlink and Maintenance Service Providers (MSP’s) to ensure safe and effective operation and maintenance of Powerlink substation, transmission line, secondary system and digital networks.
- Develop operational document for all HV transmission and digital network asset types which align with the corporation’s overall strategies and policies.
- Undertake Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) approval of various documents.

About you
In addition to having a Bachelor of Electrical, Electrical and Computing or Mechatronics Engineering, you will have RPEQ. You will have a second to none focus on safety with an inclusive and collaborative approach to working with cross functional teams and stakeholders within Powerlink;
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the design, maintenance and construction of HV transmission assets including associated secondary systems and digital networks.
- Demonstrated ability to expertly analyse plant and equipment failures, design faults and asset condition monitoring data.
- Demonstrated ability to apply advanced engineering knowledge relating to the operation and performance of HV substations, transmission lines, secondary systems and digital networks.
- Demonstrated ability to apply working knowledge of progressive asset monitoring concepts and principles to make relevant information available to the business using contemporary methods.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of relevant legislative requirements (Electricity Act, Workplace Health and Safety Act, Environmental Protection Act, etc.)
