In this exciting new role, no two days will be the same. A significant portion of your role will be to guide and support a team of individual specialists, providing a range of assurance services, enabling the Strategic Procurement Team to deliver sustainable, best practice outcomes while meeting Powerlink’s obligations to state and federal government requirements related to procurement processes and activities. You will have opportunity to influence process improvement solutions to support the growing complexities of a transforming procurement function.
As you focus on delivering fit-for-purpose, value for money, risk appropriate procurement support services that assist the delivery of business-wide strategic initiatives, you will collaborate and engage with key stakeholders across the business, industry peers, Queensland Government procurement, and other industry associations.
Here’s how:
- You’ll manage a team of multiple disciplined specialists providing support, coaching, and advice across a range of functions.
- You’ll develop an annual plan addressing the strategies, goals, activities, resources and targets of the Procurement Assurance team to deliver the multi-functional services provided by the team.
- You’ll manage the relationships with the Team Leaders across the Strategic Procurement Team, ensuring alignment of initiatives to deliver uplift and improvements enabling the broader team to focus on their core functions, delivering best for business outcomes.
- You’ll provide advice and guidance to the Strategic Procurement Team and Powerlink business on all legislative, procurement related policies, and mandate requirements to ensure compliance with Powerlink’s obligations.
- You’ll oversee all transformation, improvement and innovation initiatives managed by the Procurement Assurance team.
What you'll bring
- Degree qualification in Supply, Procurement, Business, Law or similar discipline within a commercial field or MCIPS accreditation or a lesser qualification coupled with demonstrated leadership experience, ideally within a procurement and supply function.
- Demonstrated initiative in your previous experience, with substantial experience in influencing and leading various stakeholders and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong people leadership skills, with prior success in both leading a team of procurement and supply chain professionals and managing external stakeholder relationships, preferably within the energy sector.
- Passion for Procurement Assurance and leading a team of passionate specialists in their field - this is a great opportunity for you to join the Supply Chain Services Group in an exciting time for the industry.
- A strategic procurement approach and a customer-focus with a vast knowledge of and experience with procurement assurance related activities, including maintaining a suite of support tools, process development, innovation, application of QPP, QIPP, BPP, and utilisation of procurement IT systems will be highly regarded.
We’d also love you to have:
- A substantial working knowledge and be a strong advocate of the various state and federal government procurement related policies and legislations, such as Modern Slavery Act, ESG, Carbon Reduction, delivery of RAP commitments, and the application of these requirements within a GOC.
