As Manager Power System Operations you’ll help find clever solutions to interesting problems as you grow your skills every day. And you’ll do it with down-to-earth people who you’re proud to work with and get to know. Here’s how:
You’ll be fundamental in leading the team who work on the frontline to oversee Queensland's High Voltage transmission network in real time. You will coach and guide your team as they work around the clock to deliver reliable and sustainable electricity for almost 5 million Queensland customers, enriching lifestyles and driving economic growth.
Joining our team at an exciting time of generational transformation, you will play a key role in supporting your team in a major shift in culture, capabilities, operational technologies and ways of working, building a network for the future; a network that is sustainable, stable and reliable.
You will enter an environment that is highly complex, and while this will present challenges, you will also have many opportunities to learn, develop and apply new skills within our supportive and collaborative team.
What you’ll bring
You are a collaborative and engaging leader, with capabilities and experience in delivering cultural transformation within a 24/7 operational centre environment. Ideally, you have operated within the Electrical or Power Systems industry, with the ability to apply SCADA and Secondary Systems knowledge, however, your background might be in Gas, Rail, Aviation or a similar industry.
With an Associate Diploma in Electrical Engineering and sound technical knowledge, you have the ability to coach, guide and mentor a team of technical professionals, and make informed decisions that support your team in continually improving and challenging the status quo.
Your approach facilitates exceptional service to internal and external customers, and you have prior success in leading real-time monitoring and operations.
What matters most is your drive to make an impact for the millions of people we serve. Through our core values of accountability, customer service, teamwork and safety, you’ll strive to question and challenge the ordinary every day
