Reporting to the Team Leader Finance Operations, the purpose of the Accounts Payable & Receivable role is to ensure all supplier invoices are paid in accordance with the agreed payment terms. The role is also responsible for issuing invoices on a timely basis to customers for goods and services provided by Powerlink and to follow up on the payment of these invoices.
Other key responsibilities include maintaining master records, the processing of monies received, issuing of receipts and processing of property search requests and payments.
In this role you will schedule creditor payment runs and ensure Treasury staff are advised of daily cash requirements, ensuring creditor records are maintained and all invoices received from goods and services providers are processed.
Additional key accountabilities include:
- Manage the banking of all moneys to ensure banking occurs within agreed timeframes.
- Manage allocated general ledger reconciliations to ensure they are completed and checked within pre-agreed timeframes following month end ledger closures.
- Provide expertise and assistance to other team members to ensure all journal forms are processed and recorded in terms of established policy and protocols.
- Provide support to other team members as required such as during times of absence or periods of high activity to ensure continuity of service is provided at the highest level.
What you’ll bring
To be successful in this role the applicant will require a Diploma or Certificate in business finance or accounting coupled with significant experience in accounts and providing timely services to stakeholders within a complex organisation.
You will have:
- Demonstrated ability to operate in an Accounts Payable position within a medium to large commercial company utilising an inter-relational accounting software package.
- Demonstrated ability to utilise computer software applications, with the ability to develop reasonably complex spreadsheets and office communication systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage the security and banking of all monies received by a medium sized corporation.
