The Role

We are seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join our Asset Management Team for Melbourne Water. This essential role will be based out at the Brooklyn Pumping Station with the requirement to travel to different Melbourne Water locations across Melbourne and provide after-hour services to the contract. This opportunity will see you provide technical engineering expertise and assist in end-to-end project delivery and minor capital works across the contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and challenge where appropriate, the client’s software development, software management and hardware procurement standards
  • Provide engineering expertise on standards updates and creation
  • Read and understand the detailed instrument, electrical and mechanical drawings or specifications to plan and complete the task and ascertain the materials and equipment required
  • Prepare and mark up electrical drawings to reflect process control system changes
  • Examine and test control systems to diagnose faults
  • Provide control system support in testing and diagnosing SCADA and electrical-related faults
  • Develop project documentation and provide project management for all phases of self-performed control system projects
  • Conduct control loop function checks and tuning

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a driven and adaptable degree-qualified engineer, ideally with experience and knowledge of the water sector or similar industry. Additionally, you will demonstrate and possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering – Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, or a Computer Science Degree
  • Demonstrate a good attitude toward learning
  • Acute attention to detail and exceptional organisation skills
  • Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement ability
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of service delivery business model
  • Proficient in PLCs, OIUs and industrial networks, especially Allen Bradley (SLC, PLC5, Control Logix, PanelView Plus, DH+, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Ethernet/IP)
