Business Development Manager – Staffing Industry

The Role

You may be an existing Business Development Manager within the recruitment industry or similar services sector looking to make a significant career move.

Reporting directly to the General Manager – SA/VIC/Tas, this important role will focus on driving and delivering to Programmed’s sales strategy across the industrial sector, with a specific focus on winning Major & National Industrial customers.

This crucial role will see you excel by utilising your extensive networking and communication skills. Your ability to connect the dots between needs and solutions, and your ability to hit the ground running will be important.

You will also liaise with the SA Regional Manager, and be involved with the National Sales team as a trusted and integral team member whose core responsibilities are:

  • Researching new business opportunities in targeted industries predominantly in FMCG, Manufacturing, Warehousing, Logistics, Construction and Trades
  • Perform prospecting activities and maintain a sufficient base of prospects to enable attainment of sales targets
  • Prospecting activities include cold calling, proposal preparation, product demonstrations, and customer analysis and needs assessments
  • Proactively developing & managing a pipeline in both Major & National opportunities
  • Working closely with our operational delivery teams on new business you have secured
  • Developing opportunities to cross sell products to existing clients
  • Working collaboratively with key internal stakeholders across Adelaide
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Programmed offering to enable effective prospect interactions and sales opportunity development

Skills and experience

In order to thrive in this position, the demonstrated experience and following attributes are highly valued:

  • Demonstrable experience in a sales-based recruitment role or similar sales related experience in the services sector
  • Experience working within a previous sales or delivery team is beneficial
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working to and consistently achieving KPIs and targets
  • Ability to develop and sustain strong professional relationships with prospects, clients & colleagues
  • Have strong computer literacy, Microsoft Office and HubSpot experience or similar
  • Strong proposal writing skills
  • Experience selling face to face and within the virtual selling environment
  • Self-motivated and can work autonomously
  • Deliver service excellence to all prospective clients, whilst displaying outstanding relationship building skills
  • Ability to identify and close new business opportunities
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Current Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle
