QMAG Pty Limited is seeking a Procurement Officer to join our Procurement Team based at our Parkhurst Site. The primary objective of the role is to manage and assist with the coordination, planning and performance of inventory purchasing to support the Magnesia operation. In addition, the Procurement Officer is tasked with ensuring the efficiency of sourcing of inventory items and vendor management

The Role

The role will predominately involve:

  • To review inventory systems and analyse for purchasing action.
  • Assist with inventory Management of Packaging and Production materials in conjunction with stores team
  • Obtain competitive quotes to obtain best purchase price, quality, and delivery terms.
  • Conduct regular sourcing activities.
  • Manage and expedite Outstanding Purchase Orders.
  • Conduct market research and identify new competitive supply sources of equipment and materials.
  • Manage and lead the Stocktake process for Parkhurst and Kunwarara from administration through to delivery including Cycle Counts and Full Stocktakes.
  • Assist the Procurement Lead with Tender & RFQ processes including management and administration where required.
  • To manage and expedite back-order reports with vendors.
  • To ensure, where applicable, items comply with Australian Standards.
  • To report stores inventory discrepancies and to initiate Asset Disposal Forms where appropriate.

Requirements

Applicants who possess the following will be considered:

  • Demonstrated experience leading Operational Excellence within an area of responsibility.
  • An intermediate level of competence in computer systems such as the Microsoft Office Suite, and other supply systems such as SAP.
  • To display and can plan, organise, prioritise, and undertake work activities in a methodical and efficient manner.
  • To be able to communicate and share information both in written and verbal form to all internal customers/stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Ability to maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and internal functions (Health Safety & Environment, Finance, Operational Support, Maintenance, Operations, Logistics and Production).
  • Strong analytical skills and data interpretation skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
