An exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Asset and Maintenance Management (AMM) has arisen to join the academic team in the School of Engineering and Technology (SET), within the College of Project Management, Built Environment and Asset & Maintenance Management (CoPBA). The AMM courses enjoy a high reputation with remarkable quality, where the courses have recently been accredited by the World Partners in Asset Management (WPiAM). We are looking for a strong academic with track records in research as well as experience in supporting undergraduate and postgraduate students’ education development through multi-modal delivery strategies and mentoring students to achieve learning goals. You will contribute to the research development and curriculum upgrading, and the wider academic, research, and professional requirements of the School of Engineering and Technology and be a key contributor to research output in the College of Project Management, Built Environment, Asset & Maintenance Management. Applicants at this level are expected to be professionally active in research with well-defined teaching philosophy within the field of Asset and Maintenance Management and related subjects.
This position is being offered as either a Lecturer (Level B) or a Senior Lecturer (Level C), the appointment level will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Position Requirements
Lecturer - Position Requirements:
- A doctoral degree (or close to completion) in the field of Asset and Maintenance Management or a related discipline is preferred. Alternatively, candidates with a relevant postgraduate qualification and with demonstrated industry experience in the field of Asset and Maintenance Management will also be considered.
- Demonstrating proficiency in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate university students, with a track record of effectively supporting their educational growth through various instructional approaches.
- Undertaking research activities, either independently or as part of larger research teams in the field of Asset and Maintenance Management and/or other research areas.
- Creating and developing course materials for units.
- Providing guidance and overseeing the academic progress of Postgraduate students involved in unit work.
- Delivering comprehensive lectures, tutorials, practical classes, and workshops utilizing diverse modes of delivery to cater to different learning styles and preferences.
Senior Lecturer - Position Requirements:
- A doctoral qualification (PhD) in Asset and Maintenance Management or a relevant discipline is a mandatory requirement for this position.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Asset and Maintenance Management best practices.
- A strong research track record supported by recent published research aligned with the research profile of the School of Engineering and Technology.
- Established research track record with recent publications, showcasing the ability to contribute to research within the School.
- Ability to deliver high-quality teaching in the fields of Asset Management, Maintenance, and related areas.
- Possession of a teaching qualification or willingness to pursue a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching/ Education.
- Familiarity with current professional and educational issues in higher education.
- Demonstrating proficiency in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate university students, with a track record of effectively supporting their educational growth through various instructional approaches
- Willingness and capability to assume a leadership role within a team.
- Evident of excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with effective interpersonal abilities.
