Shift Team Leader

The Opportunity

QMAG Pty Limited is one of the world's largest producers of raw magnesite, Coarse Calcined, Deadburned and Electrofused Magnesia used for the global agricultural, refractory, and chemical markets. Magnesite is mined at our Kunwarara Operation; transported and further processed at our Parkhurst Site, then shipped and exported globally.

We are looking for a Shift Team Leader to monitor and lead the day-to-day work carried out by the Parkhurst Shift Operators, ensuring that the production of Magnesia meets production targets while complying with all relevant company safety, quality and environmental policies, procedures and systems.

About You

Your high-level knowledge and skills are vital to your success in this role. Your experience will also include:

• Ability to utilise initiative and problem solve.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and collaborate to achieve results.
• Strong communication skills and ability to develop and supervise Production Crews
• Experience in industrial mining or mineral processing environments
• Operating experience in mobile machinery and/or fixed plant; preferably in conjunction with large, automated crushing/screening plants

About The Role

As the Shift Team Leader, you are expected to undertake routine tasks, exercise discretion, judgment, and operate with flexibility between tasks. As this is a key position within the business, it is expected that the incumbent will be called on to respond to operational requirements which may involve periodically working beyond normal hours to support and enhance the business, while showing exemplary commitment to the company values and behavior.

The Requirements

We are looking for someone who can provide the following to our organisation:

• Ability to participate and obtain S1, S2 and S3 Supervisor Competencies
• Trade qualifications and/or certificates of competencies in the following:
  • Front-End loader
  • Dozers
  • Water Trucks
  • Excavator (Desirable)
• Exposure to unit cost production, with experience in planning work schedules, budgeting, and meeting deadlines
