We are looking for an experienced Geology Superintendent. Based at our Kunwarara Operations, 45 mins north of Rockhampton and Yeppoon, this position is primarily responsible for increasing resource definition and the advancement of MDL to ML areas that best meet the business needs. This will be achieved by obtaining, interpreting, and reporting on geological information to allow reserves to be accurately estimated and to inform the business regarding decisions for the ore body, mine strategy and logistics. Management of external resources and interacting with all departments will also be required during the ML Application process.
To be successful you will be able to demonstrate:
- Tertiary qualifications and experience in Geology or related subject.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in open cut mine geology, exploration, resource development
- Significant experience with exploration and drilling bulk sampling techniques.
- Demonstrated high level knowledge and application of a range of computer packages for the purposes of maintaining, integrating and analyzing geological data.
- Knowledge of the Queensland Mining and Quarrying Health and Safety Act, Environmental legislation and guidelines and other relevant legislation along the value chain from mine to customer.
- Knowledge of sedimentary ore deposits (desirable)
- Experience managing teams.
- Ability to meet the criteria of the Competent Person for JORC compliance.
