We are looking for an experienced Mine Surveyor to be based at our Kunwarara Operations, 45 mins north of Rockhampton and Yeppoon, the primary purpose of the Mine Surveyor is to manage the key physicals, in that they will mark out, capture, record, calculate and report on these key physicals to ensure that:
- Safety and Environmental/cultural heritage considerations are a key driver of the operation from planning through to execution, the surveyor will clearly mark the required limits of disturbance and excavation and survey these limits for reporting and legislative requirements,
- Capture sufficient data to accurately calculate Mining production quantities and Stockpile quantities at both Kunwarara and Parkhurst to allow for the accurate and time reporting of end of month physicals and payment to contractors,
- Reconciliation of planned v actual mining volumes and output quantities to allow for targeted business improvement strategies and improved accuracy of future planning and budgeting, and
- Sufficient information is available to support fact-based decision making related to future mining strategy and operating methods.
To be successful you will be able to demonstrate:
- An overriding commitment to ensuring that all employees go home safely every day.
- A strong sense of personal accountability and the ability to self-start.
- A willingness to undertake a diverse range of responsibilities and be a key contributor to the site-based team.
- A commitment to learning and general interest about mining and mineral processing
- An associate degree in surveying
- 3+ years of experiences at a surface mining operation, with sound volumetric calculation and reconciliation experience.
- 2+ years of experience with a mine surveying package (Vulcan, Cad12D or similar)
- Proficient in the set up and use of GPS survey equipment.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Registered Drone operator with CASA qualification
- Physical fit and capable of extended periods of field survey.
