Control Systems Technician

We are seeking a Control Systems Technician to join our Maintenance Team based at our Parkhurst Site. The Control Systems Technician provides system administration and maintenance for the plant, along with, process control systems at Parkhurst and Kunwarara Operations.
The Role
The role of Control Systems Technician will involve, amongst other things:
- Programming of CTi / Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs
- Setting and control of PLC programming standards
- Programming of Citect SCADA workstations
- Troubleshooting and maintenance on PLC, SCADA, and Control Systems Network hardware
- Provide troubleshooting support on process and plant instrumentation
- Training of Electricians in the use of PLC and SCADA systems
- Develop strong working knowledge of plant processes
- All aspects of control system programming from functional specification design to programming
- Participate actively in the project process, providing input for the design, specification, and purchase phase
The Requirements
We are looking for people with the following:
- Tertiary Qualifications – Control Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering (desirable)
- Certificate 3 Instrumentation Technician (optional)
- Experience in Instrumentation, PLC and Citect SCADA systems
- 5 years’ demonstrated experience in PLC and SCADA programming in an industrial environment (desirable)
- Sound reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Ability to work to tight deadlines on multiple tasks
