An exciting opportunity has become available for a Part Time Administrative Assistant to join the Gold Coast Airport team for 2 days per week. This is a fixed term role until 23 April 2027.

This role provides administrative support to our Asset Services and Health Safety Environment teams and is well suited to a detail-oriented individual with strong organisational and administrative capabilities who is keen to build experience in asset management. Exposure to maintenance-related areas, such as electrical systems and building services, will be advantageous. A university student currently studying engineering will be highly regarded, particularly someone with a genuine interest in maintenance and infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.

“I joined QAL in the Assets and environment team while looking for an Electrical apprenticeship to pursue my interest in Electrotechnology. Not only did I receive the opportunity to complete an electrical apprenticeship, I was also given training opportunities which resulted in me finding my current position within the team.”

How will you make an impact?

This role plays a key support role within the department by contributing to smooth administrative operations, achieving business goals, and ensuring timely and accurate financial processes. No prior experience is required for this role, strong administration skills will be highly valued.

Key deliverables/responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Help ensure the Asset Department remains compliant with current systems and procedures.
  • Create and manage purchase requisitions and orders using Technology One.
  • Assist in preparing reports related to purchasing and contractor management.
  • Support organised filing of all purchasing, staffing, OPEX, CAPEX, and departmental documents.
  • Build and nurture strong, respectful working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
