We’re looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer with solid accounts payable experience to join the QAL Finance team. This role can be worked flexibly with up to two days’ work from home to support your work-life balance.

This mid-level role requires a collaborative, team-focused approach to ensure financial transactions are processed accurately and on time. If you’re resilient, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, you’ll excel managing tasks like invoice processing, account queries, executing payment runs and managing the process for the business. Together, we work efficiently to keep all financial processes running smoothly.

Leanne joined the Finance Team at QAL in 2025 as an Accounts Receivable Officer (Finance Officer):

“I genuinely love working at QAL because of the people, the culture, and the sense of purpose that comes with being part of the organisation. One of the things I value most is being surrounded by people who are supportive, approachable and willing to work together to achieve the best outcomes. There is a strong sense of teamwork, and I really appreciate being part of an environment where everyone brings different skills, experiences and perspectives to the table.”

“Ultimately, I love working at QAL because it feels like more than just a job. It is a place where I feel supported, appreciated and motivated to do my best. I am proud to be part of QAL and grateful for the opportunities, experiences and relationships that have come from working here.”

How will you make an impact?

This role is ideal for someone who is self-motivated, highly organised, and detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy in every task. You’ll need excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within a busy team and support shared goals. Being comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and handling important, recurring tasks over the long term is essential. And while we’re committed to working hard and getting the job done, we believe in having fun along the way—making each day both productive and enjoyable.

Key deliverables / responsibilities:

  • Timely and accurate processing of payments within the Group.
  • Reconcile monthly statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Schedule and execute payment runs in line with company terms.
  • Handling accounts responsibilities in the absence of other team members on leave.
  • Complete End of Month processes as required and associated reporting.
  • Training the business in purchase order and goods receipting processes.

How we support you?

At Queensland Airports Limited (QAL), we believe work should support life, not compete with it. Through our Living Well approach, we offer flexible working options for all roles, wellbeing initiatives and a supportive culture so our people can thrive both professionally and personally.

As we continue to grow and transform, we encourage flexible ways of working and open conversations about how work fits alongside life. We also invest in our people through learning, mentoring and career pathways across our four airports.

What we’ve built together:

At QAL, our people connect communities. We own and operate Gold Coast, Townsville, Mount Isa and Longreach airports, linking regional Queensland and northern New South Wales with the rest of Australia and the world.

More than 8 million passengers travel through our airports each year, supported by teams working together to create safe, welcoming and efficient experiences. Our vision is to be the first-choice gateway for our regions, creating valuable connections and inspiring a sustainable future.

We’re committed to an inclusive and psychologically safe workplace where people feel valued, supported and encouraged to be themselves. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every requirement.

QAL is a WORK180 Endorsed Employer, independently recognised for supporting long‑term careers, flexibility, wellbeing and equal opportunity. Learn more about working at QAL here.

The successful candidate will be required to adhere to QAL’s Drug and Alcohol Management Plan (DAMP), which includes pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing and have the ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), which requires the completion of a Police Check.
