We are seeking a proactive, relationship-focused Health, Safety & Wellbeing Business Partner to support operations and projects across our three Regional Airports: Townsville, Mount Isa and Longreach. This is a dynamic and hands-on role ideal for a capable safety professional who enjoys variety, autonomy and meaningful stakeholder engagement.
What You’ll Contribute To
Reporting to the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager - Regional Airports, the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Business Partner – Regional Airports provides broad-based WHS and wellbeing support across Townsville, Mount Isa and Longreach Airports.
You will work closely with local airport teams, contractors, tenants and project managers to embed QAL’s Health & Safety Management System (HSMS), strengthen safety culture, deliver wellbeing initiatives, and support both day-to-day operations and infrastructure projects.
The role involves regular travel between ports and requires a confident safety professional who can operate independently, build strong relationships, and adapt to diverse environments.
What We’re Looking For
- Tertiary WHS qualification (minimum Cert IV Workplace Health and Safety).
- 2–5 years’ experience in operational Workplace Health and Safety roles (aviation, infrastructure, projects or similar highly regarded).
- Experience with incident investigations, high-risk work controls and contractor safety management.
- Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety legislation, ISO 45001 and modern safety practices.
- Strong organisational capability and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confident communicator with excellent analytical and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and WHS/safety management platforms.
