Queensland Fire and Emergency Services

ALL IN ALL FRONTS

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) provides vital fire and emergency services to the communities of Queensland. Whether you're on the front line or supporting those who are, every role within QFES counts.

A message from Commissioner Greg Leach

Here at QFES, we are a unique mix of people with a variety of expertise, skills and knowledge. Together, we work closely with our people, partners and community to build resilience and provide timely, quality and effective emergency services to the people of Queensland.
We strive to reflect the communities we serve, embracing and celebrating the diversity our staff and volunteer workforce provide. We live our values of respect, integrity, courage, loyalty and trust and embed them in everything we do.
QFES comprises three operational streams - Fire and Rescue Service, Rural Fire Service and the State Emergency Service (SES) – along with corporate divisions.
We are guided by Strategy 2030, which outlines how we need to adapt to meet the future needs of Queenslanders before, during and after emergency and disaster events. We know we are facing an ever-changing environment, so need to be insightful and responsive to ensure we overcome the challenges it presents. This includes developing a workforce that is sustainable, capable and connected to the communities we serve.
Every QFES staff member and volunteer plays an important role in making Queensland communities safer and more resilient. We offer flexible work arrangements, equal pay and a variety of employment opportunities.
QFES offers its people the opportunity for an exciting, challenging and rewarding career.
