Your Opportunity

Due to exciting growth and an expanding portfolio, we have a rare opportunity for an Integrated City Planning Lead in our Infrastructure Planning & Delivery group.

This role sits in our Integrated Planning team, who are essential in shaping the vision and objectives of our policies and servicing strategies. The team is responsible for building, adapting, and implementing plans for wastewater catchments, water supply zones, and data systems to define performance targets, establish investment pathways, and develop Strategic Business Cases - all driving an affordable, sustainable, and deliverable portfolio to achieve key objectives.

The Integrated Planning Lead will lead a small team to solve complex problems that define adaptive investment pathways to inform our multibillion-dollar capital and operating expenditure forecasts for the 5 to 20 year horizon.

You will be accountable for developing and maintaining multiple adaptive integrated water cycle plans and producing Strategic Business cases (SBC’s) that define performance trade-offs, 20-year capital, operating and maintenance interventions, and the investment required to deliver upon our service level objectives for our urban communities.

What’s most exciting about this role is that you will play a critical role in delivering a multi-billion-dollar capital works program, be contributing to sustainable solutions for Southeast Queensland’s water cycle, while also challenging engineering norms by committing to innovation to transform our water services for our customers.

Some of your accountabilities will include:

  • Leads, develops and maintains multiple integrated plans with a grounding of current and forecast service performance (and risk), climate change adaptation requirements, prioritised development areas and best value to achieve service level objectives.

  • Develops specific performance targets for integrated plans, provides contextual application to evaluate scenarios, create and maintains adaptive pathways for interventions to achieve them.

  • Provides insight into operational licence, environmental protection licence, asset resilience, forecast climate change adaptation requirements and service performance, with a data-based view to alternative options and lead regulatory discussions considering risk / cost / performance and corporate objectives

  • Leads integrated planning teams to solve complex problems. Coordinate the involvement of subject matter experts, stakeholders, planning partners, information and end users to ensure the quality of planning outputs and solutions achieve our service level objectives.

About You

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about shaping our future and, ideally, have the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

  • You have leadership experience and develop team capability through coaching, performance feedback, and encouraging career development.

  • You have a growth mindset and are highly collaborative. You are able to influence stakeholders, collaborate cross-functionally to deliver outcomes, and can simplify complex information for robust decision making.

  • Technical experience in wastewater treatment planning, and have a contemporary understanding of industry drivers, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements.

  • Bachelor of Engineering, Chartered Professional Engineer Status (Australia) and Registration as a Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or ability to attain.
