Your Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Career Pathways Specialist to join our People & Capability team within People and External Relations.
In this role, you will lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of Urban Utilities’ early talent and career pathways approach, helping us build sustainable talent pipelines aligned to our workforce priorities, employee value proposition and future capability needs.
You will own and evolve key early careers initiatives, including graduate, undergraduate, vocational and early career pathways. Working closely with leaders, education providers and internal stakeholders, you will translate workforce needs into practical, scalable and meaningful development experiences that support our people, strengthen internal mobility and help shape the future workforce of Urban Utilities.
What You’ll Deliver
- Lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of early careers and pathway programs, including graduate, undergraduate, vocational and emerging talent initiatives.
- Develop attraction and engagement strategies that connect early career talent with Urban Utilities’ workforce priorities and employee value proposition.
- Partner with leaders and key stakeholders to identify emerging capability needs and shape practical pathway solutions that support future workforce readiness.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with universities, TAFEs, schools, government bodies and industry partners to strengthen our talent pipelines.
- Monitor program outcomes, participant experience, diversity metrics and retention data to evaluate impact and drive ongoing improvement.
About You
You will bring a strong background in early careers, graduate recruitment, human resources, workforce programs or career pathway design, with the ability to operate confidently in a complex stakeholder environment.
You will also bring:
- A degree in Human Resources, Business, Education or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing or evolving early careers, graduate, vocational or workforce pathway programs.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence leaders and translate workforce needs into practical program solutions.
- Experience using data, insights and feedback to evaluate program effectiveness and support continuous improvement.
- An understanding of university, TAFE, vocational or emerging workforce pathways.
- The ability to manage competing priorities, work with ambiguity and deliver outcomes with autonomy.
Experience in utilities, public sector, applicant tracking systems, campus recruitment tools, diversity and inclusion initiatives, or instructional design frameworks such as ADDIE would be highly regarded.
