Your opportunity:
Our Digital & Information group are seeking a Salesforce Specialist Developer to bring deep technical expertise and innovation to our Digital Applications Build team.
Digital & Information (D&I) is responsible for digitally enabling Urban Utilities today and digitally transforming future capability to enable provision of digital services to our customers, community and people. The group is accountable to formulate and execute Urban Utilities’ digital & data strategy, deliver Urban Utilities digital portfolio and provide day-to-day operations of information technology (IT), operating technology (OT), data, and the Internet of Things (IOT), including security, infrastructure management, system administration, network operations, and support services.
Reporting to the Lead, you'll bring deep technical expertise to design, develop, and deliver scalable Salesforce solutions that align with Urban Utilities' strategic goals. You'll work across Sales, Service, and Experience Clouds, leading technical design, development, and DevOps processes.
This position requires on-site presence at our Fortitude Valley office three days per week. We believe in the power of face-to-face collaboration, balanced with the flexibility of hybrid work.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, test, and deploy secure, high-performance Salesforce solutions using Apex, LWC, Visualforce, and Flow.
Lead design sessions, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior developers.
Manage CI/CD pipelines and implement DevOps tools (e.g., Gearset, Copado, Salesforce DX).
Integrate Salesforce with third-party systems via APIs, Platform Events, and CDC.
Ensure compliance with security, governor limits, and best practices.
About You
You’re a seasoned Salesforce professional with over 6 years of hands-on development experience across multiple Salesforce clouds and platforms. You bring deep technical expertise and a proactive, solution-focused mindset.
Proficient in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, Aura, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Experienced with Flows, asynchronous processes (Batch Apex, Queueable, Scheduled Jobs), and robust integration patterns (APIs, Platform Events, CDC).
Strong understanding of Salesforce security models and DevOps tools (e.g., Gearset, Copado, Salesforce DX).
Certified Salesforce Platform Developer II; additional certifications such as JavaScript Developer I and Architect credentials are highly regarded.
Familiarity with Salesforce Field Service, Digital Enablement, and Agentforce is a plus.
Hold a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or possess equivalent industry experience.
Proven track record in leading technical solutions, mentoring others, and solving complex challenges.
Excellent communicator and team player, thriving in Agile, cross-functional environments.
Able to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, evolving settings.
Ability to meet security clearance or SOCI obligations, depending on role requirements.
Performance of ‘on call’ duties are an inherent requirement of this role. This requires that the employee must be available to be on-call and to attend to work matters, both in person and remotely, outside of normal working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, as reasonably required to fulfill the requirements of the position. The days, times, duration and frequency of on call arrangements may be subject to change, including at short notice, as required by Urban Utilities’ operational needs as applying from time to time. At all times whilst on-call, you must be fit for duty, contactable, and able to respond, including the ability to physically attend if required, to the operational needs of the business within a reasonable timeframe and in a safe manner.
