Your opportunity:
UrbanUtilitesOperations and Maintenancegroupis seeking a ManagerAdvanced Operations Resilience to join us as a senior leader within our Network Services Group. This groupis responsible forthe performance, reliability, and optimisation of Urban Utilities’ water and wastewater networks, ensuring we deliver exceptional service to more than 600,000 properties and 1.3 million customers across our service region
Overseeing multiple integrated teams, the Manager Advanced Operations Resilienceis responsible forthe reliable day-to-day operational performance of a 9,500 km water network and a 9,700 km wastewater network. The role focuses on delivering flexible, efficient short- to mid-term operational planning, supporting operational technology platforms, and drivingtimelyfault identification and resolution. The aim is to consistently meet service performance targets, safeguard community health, provide excellent customer outcomes, manage long-term costs, andmaintaincompliance with regulatory standards and safe drinking water requirements.
Performance in this position will be assessed by the quality ofshort and medium termoperational decisions and customer-focused actions, the effectiveness of work plans in enabling field activity while mitigating network risk, and the consistent achievement of network health measures such as asset uptime, water quality, Non-Revenue Water (NRW), and environmental obligations.Additionalindicators include the safety and efficiency of network operations, the thoroughness of investigations into customer concerns and operational incidents, the escalation of systemic issues, and the reliability of predictive OT systems that provide visibility across the water and wastewater networks.
About you:
This role is a critical part of the Network Services Leadership Team, nurturing a positive, collaborative culture and supporting steady, thoughtful leadership across the organisation. It helps guide clear operational strategy, encourages consistent and reliable performance, and supports the constructive resolution of issues as they arise.
EDUCATION-
A relevant degree qualification in engineering, science or business or equivalent experience.
Experience or qualifications in emergency management or business resilience would be highly regarded.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Strong understanding of technical and regulatory obligationsoperatinga water utility
Superior stakeholder management across internal and external teams
Experience taking highly technical topics and conveying to corporate teams to effectively communicate opportunities and risk
Water and Wastewater experience is highly regarded
LEADERSHIP
Experience and acommitment tobeing a great leader and working with Cross functional teams
Proven ability leading highly technical discussions and passion for continues improvementviatechnological changes
