Your opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Reliability Engineer to join our Maintenance Management team.
This team is part of our wider Operations and Maintenance portfolio, Dedicated to the safe and efficient delivery of water services through the operation and maintenance of our water, wastewater and resource recovery infrastructure. This team is vital to Urban Utilities’ purpose to “Enrich Quality of Life,” ensuring the safety of our people and customers, protecting public health and the environment, meeting customer needs, and minimising long-term service costs.
- Collect, validate and analyse asset performance and maintenance history data from CMMS, SCADA and site sources.
- Assist with documenting asset functions, functional failures and failure modes.
- Support failure investigations through site inspections, data gathering and condition assessments.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and defect elimination activities.
- Assist in preparing reliability reports, dashboards and improvement recommendations.
- Support spare parts analysis and Bill of Materials verification.
- Build an understanding of asset failure behaviour and maintenance effectiveness.
- Work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams to identify reliability improvement opportunities.
About you:
If you are looking to extend your engineering knowledge in asset fault finding, investigation and Root Cause Analysis, this role will provide a strong foundation for your career operating under the guidance of senior Reliability Engineers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or related engineering discipline.
- Strong interest in asset management, failure analysis and reliability engineering.
- Willingness to learn asset functions, processes and failure mechanisms.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Exposure to asset management frameworks (IIMM, ISO 55000) is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a field-based environment.
- Valid Drivers License
