YOUR OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join our Operations and Maintenance, Advanced Operations Resilience group.
The Advanced Operations Resilience group is accountable for the performance and optimisation of Urban Utilities Water and Wastewater Networks to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is delivered to over 600,000 properties and 1.5 million of customers within Urban Utilities service regions. This includes planning the maintenance for Urban Utilities entire asset base. The Group recognises the complexity of the accountability and has adopted a functional matrix structure to deliver performance outcomes.
The Senior Engineer would work within our Service Recovery and Intervention Planning teams and provide engineering support and technical advice across the wider Operations and Maintenance Team.
They ensure that operational objectives, strategies, and needs are included in all future planning works and the capital works delivered are fit for purpose, address the operational and maintenance requirements, and ensure the safety of our staff and our customers, protect public health, deliver on an exceptional customer experience, minimise the cost in the long run and ensure compliance to our regulatory obligations and safe drinking water requirements.
Success in this role will be measured by ensuring that Operations and Maintenance Planning strategies and performance targets are effectively included in future planning and the capital work programs are delivered to minimise business risk.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor of Engineering from a recognised institution
- Chartered Professional Engineer/RPEQ status (or demonstrated ability to obtain)
- Substantial experience within the water and wastewater network operations
- Proven technical experience in operational, maintenance and/or reliability engineering
- Proven experience in providing technical support and experience that contributes to effective operational and asset management outcomes
- Proven experience in developing, managing and maintaining effective strategic stakeholder relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience of general supervision of more junior colleagues
- Water and Sewer modelling experience is desirable
