Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Selection, Accreditation and SIMG (SAS) and working at a Lead level, this role is responsible for coordinating RANZCOG’s annual Fellowship and Subspecialty Trainee Selection Processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the end‑to‑end RANZCOG Fellowship and Subspecialty Trainee Selection processes across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Develop and maintain selection guidelines, policies, procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Oversee creation and publishing of selection materials (applications, referee reports, assessment tools, scoring and reporting).
  • Work closely with internal IT and external vendors to manage online recruitment systems, data collection, automated communications, and scoring/ranking functionality.
  • Provide system administration, including testing, troubleshooting, enhancements and user support.
  • Assess applicant eligibility, including registration, visa/citizenship status and experience.
  • Manage collection and assessment of selection tools (referee/institutional reports, interview preparation).
  • Liaise with the Training team and NZ staff to support operational delivery of interviews.
  • Collaborate with the Examinations Advisor & Analyst to analyse selection data and produce reporting.
  • Prepare reports, evaluate feedback, identify areas for improvement and recommend process enhancements.
  • Respond to stakeholder queries, maintain website content and support related projects and workflows.

Ko wai koe | About you - Key Selection Criteria

  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, particularly report writing and correspondence.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise and communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, individuals and groups, whilst maintaining positive relationships.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and complete tasks within strict timeframes.
  • Sound judgement and decision-making skills with the ability to problem solve.
  • Sound knowledge and aptitude for Information Technology, above that of common software applications such as Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent skills in the use of Microsoft Excel and other tools for data analysis, with confidence using statistics.
  • Experience in process improvement and establishing workflow systems.
  • The ability to work without close supervision, as a member of a team; be enthusiastic and self motivated; contribute ideas and collaborate in their implementation.
  • An interest in and the ability to grasp complex issues relating to education and women’s health.
  • Previous experience in administration of candidate selection is highly desirable.
