  • Join a collaborative team focused on improving REA’s seller-lead experiences, helping agents and agencies capture, manage and convert high-intent leads
  • Fixed term position until July 2027 based in Melbourne

We're REA

With bold and ambitious goals,
REA Group  is changing the way the world experiences property. No matter where you're at on your property journey, we're here to help with every step – whether that's finding or financing your next home.

Our people are the key to our success. At the heart of everything we do, is a thriving culture centred around high performance and care. We are purpose driven and collaborative, which drives innovation and our ability to make a real impact. As such, we’re proud to have been named one of Australia’s Best Workplaces four times since 2021 — including third place in 2025 — plus Best Workplace for Women in 2023 and Best Workplace in Technology in 2024 and 2025. These listings are testament to every person who helps make REA a great place to work.

Where the team fits in

You’ll join REA’s Sell & Rent design team, partnering with the Grow Leads squad. Together with your squad, you’ll build experiences that help agents, sellers and property owners get more value from their property journey — from generating and managing appraisal requests to helping owners make informed decisions and take their next step. Working closely with Product and Engineering, the team turns customer needs into simple, useful and commercially meaningful experiences across REA’s digital products. It’s a collaborative, outcome-focused environment where designers are involved from discovery through delivery and have the opportunity to shape products used by millions of people.

What the role is all about

As the Senior Product Designer, you will lead design work end-to-end with a high degree of autonomy, contribute to squad strategy, and actively raise the bar for those around you through mentoring and craft leadership. You are a trusted partner to Product and Engineering and bring both depth and breadth to everything you ship.

  • Understand the business context, user needs, and competitive landscape for your area, using that knowledge to inform design decisions and contribute to squad strategy.
  • Proactively identify design opportunities within your squad by surfacing problems worth solving, not just executing on the brief you're given.
  • Use data, research, and experimentation to validate design decisions and measure the impact of your work on user and business outcomes.
  • Deliver high-quality, consistent experiences using systems thinking, leveraging and raising the bar on the design system and visual identity.
  • Present work and participate in design critiques, providing thoughtful feedback that ensures consistency and quality across the team.
  • Track and analyse the performance of products and features, using data and user insight to iterate and improve outcomes over time.

Who we’re looking for

  • 5+ years’ experience designing digital products using industry-standard tools and best-practice design processes.
  • Strong experience designing for both native apps and web.
  • A proven ability to lead end-to-end design across complex initiatives — from discovery and research through to prototyping, delivery and iteration.
  • Strong product thinking, with the ability to understand business context, user needs and competitive landscapes, and contribute to squad strategy and roadmaps.
  • Confidence using research, data and experimentation to validate design decisions and measure impact.
  • Experience designing for complex customer and consumer workflows, ideally in a two-sided marketplace or B2B2C environment.
  • Strong systems thinking and a commitment to delivering high-quality, consistent experiences through design systems.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to clearly explain design rationale and build shared ownership with stakeholders.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the confidence to mentor others, contribute to critiques and help raise the standard of design practice.
  • A solutions-focused approach and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Experience in SaaS, property or another adjacent industry would be advantageous.
  • Curiosity about improving design workflows, and how AI can meaningfully contribute your process
