Our mission is to redefine connection moments to establish valuable links between members (our audience) and property professionals (our customers), ensuring consistent and personalised experiences, smooth, frictionless engagement across platforms and attribution of the leads REA delivers.

What the role is all about

  • Collaborate in a cross-functional team environment with engineers, product designers and product managers to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Design, implement, test and deploy software solutions using full-stack technologies, balancing work between frontend and backend development.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to federating teams while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Participate in agile development processes with a focus on iterative experimentation and data-driven decision making.
  • Engage in continuous learning and contribute to the broader technical community through mentorship and knowledge sharing.
  • Communicate technical options, progress and ideas effectively to product teams and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in incident management and day pager support processes as needed.
  • Take ownership of code and systems following the "you build it, you own it" principle.

Who we’re looking for

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Strong collaborative skills with ability to work effectively in high-performing, cross-functional teams.
  • Solid technical knowledge of web technologies and modern software development environments.
  • Experience developing scalable, high-performance software products.
  • Proficiency / familiarity in some of the following technology areas/concepts:
    • GraphQL and RESTful APIs
    • Event-driven Architecture (EDA) and Kafka
    • JVM-based languages (Scala, Kotlin, or Java)
    • React with TypeScript
    • PostgreSQL and containerisation (Docker)
    • AWS and micro-services architecture
    • Ruby (Not necessary but would be a great to have skill!)
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Solutions-focused approach to problem-solving, particularly in complex situations.
  • Commitment to contributing to a diverse and inclusive team culture.
  • Technical decision-making skills that align with product and tech strategy.
  • Dedication to improving systems health and reducing technical debt.
