About the Team
The role is part of the integrated L400 Phase2 Project Management team located in Redbank in Ipswich.
About the role
The Project Manager L400-2 Block 1 is responsible for the planning and management of all aspects to achieve Initial Operating Capability (IOC) of the LAND 400 Phase 2 mounted combat reconnaissance capability. The key focus of the role is the management of Interim Support Services for an early deployable capability (L400-2 Block 1 fleet of 25 vehicles) for the Australian Defence Force (ADF). The role includes the Project Management and Control Account Management of all related services provided by RDA such as Maintenance Support, Training Support, Engineering Support and Supply Support.
As the Project Manager L400-2 Block 1, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
- Develop and manage project plans and schedules to be shared with the internal team and the customer;
- Liaise with the Commonwealth of Australia and other stakeholders such as approved subcontractors, international partners, or other industry suppliers as required to manage the introduction into use and Interim Support Services of the L400-2 Block 1 fleet;
- Lead the planning and establishment of resources and supply support required for the execution of LAND 400-2 Support Services;
- Identify, track and manage issues and risks;
- Present to stakeholders reports on the progress as well as challenges and remediation plans when necessary;
- Review, monitor and report the project performance to ensure the project is being progressed in accordance with the Contract Master Schedule and the Statement of Work; and
- Provide leadership in the assessment of technical system performance and maintenance services as well as the progression of Corrective Action Reports through relevant reviews with various internal and external stakeholders.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering or a related discipline;
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects and project resources including subcontractors using PM methodologies, preferably within Defence Industry;
- Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings and to assimilate complex instructions easily;
- Ability to analyse issues and use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and approaches to problems;
- Ability to travel international (Germany) and interstate, when required; and
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
