As the Production Support Engineer, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
- Monitoring and following up on the closure of Quality Notes raised by Production.
- Developing technical solutions to issues raised during manufacture, assembly, integration and testing of the vehicle and components.
- Monitoring the implementation of rework on vehicles prior to delivery to resolve identified non-conformances, including assurance of any required testing activities.
- Providing Engineering input and assessment on Application for Deviation (SG002) documentation for sign-off by the Chief Engineer/Design Authority.
- Monitoring the Build State of each vehicle against the Build Standard to identify any issues that may affect vehicle delivery in collaboration with Configuration Management.
- Investigating solutions and providing answers to Customer queries during the vehicle acceptance process.
About your new team
Located in Redbank, Ipswich QLD you will be responsible for providing Engineering input into the processes enabling vehicle delivery from Rheinmetall Defence Australia to the Commonwealth of Australia. This includes involvement throughout the Production lifecycle of each vehicle from assembly, factory acceptance testing and vehicle acceptance by the Customer.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Minimum 1-year experience in a similar role within the manufacturing, automotive or Defence industries.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or a similar discipline).
- Advanced MS Office Applications (Word, Excel - Gantt charts, macros & pivot tables, PowerPoint, MS Project, Outlook).
- Excellent written and oral communication and organisation skills.
- Ability to travel internationally and interstate, when required.
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
The desirable and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Experience in interpreting drawings and specifications to support troubleshooting of Production issues.
- Hold or working towards RPEQ status with the Board of Professional Engineers Queensland.
- Experience with the heavy vehicle industry.
- Experience in the use of design tools in the relevant discipline.
- Understanding / experience in the use of tools such as Product Data Management, Product Lifecycle Management tools, SAP and Teamcenter.
