As a Project Manager Operations, you will be responsible for the production elements of the Boxer CRV vehicle finalisation at the Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE).

The Project Manager Operations will collaborate with onsite and international stakeholders, as well as with development, program, project, production and material teams. The focus of your role will be to ensure the compliant, controlled and on schedule delivery of Boxer vehicles from MILVEHCOE to the Commonwealth of Australian (COA).

As a Project Manager Operations, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

  • Manage the development and execution of Production Planning tasks and associated activities as required, to complete vehicle finalisation at MILVEHCOE in accordance with the approved Contract Master Schedule (CMS);
  • Issue, prioritise and monitor work packages for rework & vehicle completion;
  • Reporting of production status vs project, production and delivery schedules;
  • Leading cross functional project & production team meetings and drive focused outcomes and activities;
  • Monitor and manage all production vehicle completion project related risks;
  • Coordinate and support the development of our local manufacturing capability including transfer of knowledge and technology from Germany to Australia; and
  • Develop and maintain high quality working relationships with the international Rheinmetall project and production teams.

About your new team

The Project Manager Operations role reports through to the Senior Project Manager Operations and works alongside three other PMO’s. The PMO team forms part of the greater Operations, Planning and Control division and works closely with the Production Planning team and the Production Engineering team. This role will be based at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Process) or relevant discipline;
  • Previous experience in Project Management, as well as a Production / Process Engineering role (preferably Automotive);
  • Excellent working knowledge and understanding of complex vehicle Production systems;
  • Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes across complex global matrix organisations;
  • Natural ability to build networks across cultures and across disciplines;
  • Natural problem solver, able to troubleshoot production problems with very high attention to detail;
  • Experience utilising Root Cause Analysis tools to identify root causes and prevent reoccurrence;
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to travel internationally and interstate, when required; and
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
