The Director Sales will be responsible for influencing the business strategy to develop capture plans to guide the execution of pursuits to address capability gaps. This will include all activities to support achieving success through business development activities, market intelligence, strategy development, bid management and contract execution to achieve sales targets for the full range of Rheinmetall Weapon & Ammunition portfolio to support the Australian Defence Force and New Zealand Defence Force.
Reporting to the General Manager - Weapon and Ammunition, the Director - Sales will be responsible to support capture, generate RFI/RFQ responses, coordinates internal sales activities, prepares sales reports and interact with the customer in the early phase of programs. Will also be required to understudy the GM and to support with other internal projects.
As Director WM Technology and Sales, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
- Understudy the roles and duties of the GM Weapon & Ammunition;
- Contribute towards, and execute regional W&A strategy;
- Oversee the sales function and lead the portfolio;
- Develop deep relationships with key Divisional stakeholder within Rheinmetall globally, mainly in Europe;
- Develop a comprehensive product knowledge and associated expertise in respect of technical and commercial features (eg pricing);
- Coordinate with the Engineering, Operations, Quality, Procurement and marketing teams to ensure the effective and efficient management of the business to meet the GM's intent;
- Represent RDA and WM business units at industry events;
- Generation of RFQ/RFI/RFT responses;
- W&A sales and internal reporting (eg forecasting and mid-term planning);
- Interaction with CASG, CoA and local defence industry;
- Domestic and international travel will be required to support activities; and
- Liaison with RWM and RPS in Europe and Australia domestic partners and suppliers.

The Rheinmetall Group's Division Weapon & Ammunition is represented in Australia and New Zealand and is responsible for leading the growth and delivery of the Protection Systems, Weapons and Munitions technology and product portfolios.
Already established in Australia with a purpose built Armour Shop for the production of specialist passive protection solutions, running programs with Army and Navy for Softkill systems, as well as supporting local partners for delivery of Rheinmetall munitions to regional partners. W&A is presented with a new opportunity to position the line of business in the region following-on from the release of the DSR to bring Rheinmetall's technology to the market to meet our customers' capability requirements.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Business development experience in the defence market;
