You will be responsible for managing relevant Systems Engineering activities for various programs. You will work with the Chief Engineer and Systems Engineering Team to deliver a range of Systems Engineering activities.
As the Systems Engineer, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
- Engage and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure required program artifacts are developed and delivered;
- Develop Sub System Specifications and Interface Control Documents to define engineering work packages;
- Define the engineering performance measures and performance budgets to the engineering work packages;
- Manage the design review process including preparation of packages;
- Perform specification development, functional decomposition and development of Verification and Validation plans to satisfy contract requirements;
- Establish and maintain traceability requirements throughout the design process;
- Identify, analyse and record safety hazards for systems under development;
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of engineering processes and Safety Management Systems;
- Support the Systems Engineering Manager/Engineering Manager with running the V&V activities; and
- Write, review and support the delivery of accurate request for proposal tender artifacts as required by the engineering and bid teams.

The Electronic Solutions Systems Engineering team works in partnership with the Engineering, Project and Management teams for the design, implementation, testing and commissioning for programs such as L400-2 program.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Experience in systems engineering using formal engineering methods across the systems engineering lifecycle;
- Experience in engineering management, risk mitigation and business improvement methodologies;
- Experience in delivery of system compliance in accordance with a formal Verification and Validation Program;
- Experience in interpreting and analysing complex functional requirements;
- Defence or Automotive industry experience in delivering complex Electronics or Simulation platforms/systems would be highly desirable;
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant Engineering field such Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or in a related discipline;
- Chartered or equivalent professional status from a relevant institution (e.g. CPEng, RPEQ, NER);
- Ability to use requirements management software (DOORS);
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to resolve complex problems and issues; and
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
