WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
About the Team
Reporting to the Team Lead – Paint and Liners, you will be part of the greater Surface Technology team working alongside six Painter’s and Trades Assistant’s. This team forms part of the RDA Production team which includes the Weld Shop, Prototype Shop, Assembly teams and Armour Shop.
About the Role
As part of the RDA Surface Technology Team; the Liner Bonder is responsible for the preparation and adhesive bonding/sealing of ballistic protection liner to armoured vehicles and components to the Adhesive Bonding Standard TLA 0023.
As a Liner Bonder, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
- Surface preparation and adhesive bonding of liner to the Adhesive Bonding TLA 0023 standard;
- Assisting EAE’s with process compliance to the TLA 0023 (material, work area and tooling management, process/quality control);
- Surface preparation/pre-treatment of armour steel assemblies prior to surface coatings;
- Achieve certification as a European Adhesives Bonder (EAB) as per Adhesive Bonding Standard TLA 0023 requirements (training provided by RDA);
- Responsible for management of Lining Booth work areas and tooling – ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Adhesive Bonding Standard TLA0023;
- Management of adhesives and materials to RDA OHS requirements and the Adhesive Bonding Standard TLA0023;
- Support European Bonding Engineer (EAE) with process start up and ongoing continuous improvement activities; and
- Other duties and responsibilities that may be required as determined with your manager from time to time.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
- Experience working in a process environment in a production or manufacturing facility;
- Good mechanical aptitude;
- Fast learner and the ability and willingness to understand new concepts;
- Sound computer skills – Microsoft Office skills and general data entry programs;
- The ability to travel interstate or overseas for training if required (generally once off training); and
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
